40 years have gone by since I graduated, 30 years since I created Novasep and 10 years since I created Ypso-Facto.
At Ypso-Facto, during the last years we built simulation-based software taking the difficult path of mechanistic modeling. No matter the challenges, we have stayed true to our belief that a rational, science-based approach, driven by human intelligence, can accomplish great things.
In short, our ambition is to develop a powerful toolbox to optimize bio processes. Consequently, we worked hard to build tools, meaning innovative models for USP or DSP, creative numerical solvers for unfriendly nonlinear equations, ways to handle data from very different natures in a contextualized manner, interfaces adapted to users’ skills and habits ... We abandoned some of these tools when confrontation with users’ expectations highlighted a misfit and the most interesting ones were constantly polished to make them fit as nicely as possible with market needs.
Today, thanks to years of collaboration with our customers, we start seeing what can be accomplished. We know that there is still a journey ahead, but we are convinced it is worth it.
David my son in law first joined Ypso-Facto, quickly followed by my daughter Lucrèce and my son Edouard. They have been instrumental to this development over the last years.
Surrounded by a bunch of talented young executives, they know this company, the roots, the customers, the projects, the strengths, the challenges as well as the potential.
Lucrèce and Edouard expressed their willingness to take on the management responsibilities of the company, and I felt it was the right time to pass the torch to them.
This decision was not simply motivated by family ties, but by my conviction that they will be better than me to write the next great chapter of the Ypso-Facto story.
When announcing my transmission, I said to the team, «It will be a change, don’t compare, move forward and build a star. »
I am stepping back from my role as CEO, but I remain committed to supporting them in achieving Ypso-Facto’s objectives. As a shareholder, I will provide the necessary resources to drive the company's vision forward. As an advisor, I will offer technical and business support whenever needed. And as a benevolent Father, I will continue to nurture Ypso-Facto’s growth with care and dedication.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has played a role in turning the Ypso-Facto dream into reality and to those who are shaping that reality into an even greater success.
