The advantages of continuous manufacturing include steady state operation, consistent product quality, reduced equipment size, high volumetric productivity, streamlined process flow, low cycle times and reduced capital cost.
This new technology, however, poses challenges of various nature, which need to be addressed before large scale implementation is considered.
